Super Easy Play Dough!

Here's a super easy recipe for play dough that we just love at Nanny2u. Not only is it easy, but it's all natural and non-toxic! Your kids will love it.

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 cup baking soda

3/4 cup water

Essential oil (optional)

Food coloring (optional)

In a medium saucepan, mix the cornstarch, baking soda and water together well. Heat the mixture on medium, stirring constantly. When bubbles start to form around the edges, the dough will start to come together really quickly. When the dough holds together and forms a ball, take the pan off the heat. Put the ball of dough on a heat-resistant work surface. With a rubber scraper (so you don't burn yourself!) flip the dough over several times to help it cool. When it's cool enough to touch, knead the dough several times.

This is the time to add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to give the dough a nice fragrance. You can also add a drop or two of food coloring. Knead your additions into the dough.
